“Education, Endurance Test”

   -Cllr. J. Fonati Koffa

Grand Kru County District#2 representative, Cllr. J. Fonati Koffa has referenced education as an endurance test in the pursuit of a higher status in the academic environment.

Serving as Guest Speaker and Chief Launcher at programs marking the 6th Annual Scholarship Fund Drive of the Federation of Borough Youth (FOBY) Inc. in the Borough of New Kru Town, Bushrod Island on Saturday, August 11, 2018, the Grand Kru lawmaker reminded the gathering of mostly young people, that one has to endeavor to seek the highest peak in the educational journey to become what you want to be.

“The higher you go in education, it could be a lawyer, teacher, doctor or anybody else; the more successful you will be, adding; education is an endurance test that informs the good choices you make. It gives you a sense of mastering, in making good choices,” the Grand Kru lawmaker asserted.

Representative Koffa, who is also Chairman on the Statutory Committee on Judiciary at the House of Representatives furthered that in a democratic environment, education does not only play a pivotal role in socio-economic growth but enhances the forward march of a nation and therefore, admonished all stakeholders involved with education to scale up efforts in providing quality education for our young people.

Also speaking during the program, was District#16 representative, Dixon W. Seeboe who reprimanded members of FOBY for castigating him during the campaign for the General and Presidential elections noting; “they were on the other side but yet still, we will still make interventions for education in the Borough,” he averred.

Meanwhile, Representative Koffa contributed a purse of LD$75,000 towards FOBY’s scholarship fund drive and promised to always identify with that community in the pursuit of their dreams to attain quality education.

The Federation of Borough Youth, Inc. is the mother organization of all youth groupings within the length and breadth of the Borough of New Kru Town, and was founded in 2007 for the sole purpose of fostering unity and development for the general good and welfare of the young people of the municipality.
